We’re moving for the summer

Due to the ongoing major construction project at H-B Woodlawn School, we need to relocate for the summer. The construction crew needs continuous access to finish the project by the start of the upcoming school year which means Sunday access is not possible. We are pleased to report that God has provided a building for us that well exceeds our needs.

Beginning on SUNDAY, JUNE 2 Portico Church Arlington will hold our Sunday morning worship gathering at:

1031 N VERMONT STREET, ARLINGTON, VA 22201

This is a church building with parking - located just a few blocks from the Ballston Metro! It has enough space for our worship gathering and normal operations with plenty of room for children’s ministry. Our service time and ministries will remain the same. The only change is our location. Here’s a rundown of key information.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • New morning worship gathering location beginning SUNDAY, JUNE 2

  • Address: 1031 N Vermont Street, Arlington, VA 22201

  • Service time: same (10:30 am)

  • Parking: street parking on N Fairfax and N Vermont and a parking lot for guests, families, and attenders.

  • Metro access? Yes. Ballston Metro Station.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO MAKE THIS A GREAT TRANSITION:

  • Thank God! It’s never good to lose a worship space with little time to find a replacement. Yet, God has provided exactly what we need. Let’s praise Him.

  • Get excited! While this move is temporary for now, being in a church building in Ballston will bring energy, excitement and greater access to our community. We believe this building and location will further our mission of Uniting People to Life in Christ.

  • Spread the news! Share this information with your friends and Community Group. Let’s make sure everyone hears the news as we only have a few weeks to prepare before we move on June 2. Stay tuned as more information will be passed along via the website, social media, and PorticoNOW.

  • Pray to stay! It has been our long-standing desire to have a building that anchors all the ministry God has given us. Every time our church has moved locations (even temporarily) we have ended up staying at the new location. Wouldn’t it be amazing if God is directing and providing for us in this way? Let’s humbly pray, asking God for the opportunity to call this our permanent home.
